We want your visit with us to go as smoothly as possible. Below are some important things to remember before your appointment. Following these simple guidelines will help us to schedule your visits in the timeliest manner, minimize potential side effects and maximize the effectiveness of your treatments.
- Avoid tanning for 2-4 weeks before ANY laser treatment.
- Avoid using tanning creams or sprays for 2 weeks prior to ANY laser treatment.
- Use a sunscreen 30 or higher, and use protective clothing when you do go out in the sun.
- If your skin is dark, you may be asked to use a pre-treatment bleaching cream
- Please be prepared to inform us of any light sensitive medication you might be using (such as antibiotics, retin A, Accutane, St. John's Wart etc.)
- Avoid wearing dark colors when you come in for your treatment. The best colors to wear are white, red, or purple. Dark colors will absorb laser energy if it were accidentally touched by the laser light, and could burn the fabric.
- For HAIR REMOVAL do not wax, pluck the hairs or have electrolysis for 6 weeks before treatment. You want to have plenty of hair present in the treatment area to take the greatest advantage of what the laser can do for you.
- You may shave, bleach, or use a depilatory cream until treatment; however stubble should be visible on the day of treatment. We need to be able to see where the hair is!
Click on the TEST YOUR SKIN TYPE tab and do a self skin analysis.Â
For your children’s safety, Renew Skincare Laser Center request that you do not bring children to your laser appointments. If children are not accompanied by a supervising adult your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
If you are suntanned we WILL NOT treat you until your tan has faded to minimize the risk of thermal effect to your skin.Â
